By landscaping your front yard, not only are you adding beauty to the outside of your home, but you are also helping the environment. Planting bushes in front of your air conditioning unit will not only cover up its likely unattractive look, but will also allow it to use less energy, especially during the really warm summer months when it is likely to running regularly. By planting trees around your house you are also blocking unwanted sun that would normally shine in through your windows causing unwanted amounts of heat in the summertime. Planting flowers outside of your windows also has an appealing aspect when it starts to cool off outside. Instead of keeping the air conditioner or heater running, you will be more likely to open windows to enjoy the outdoor weather as well as the fresh scent of your newly planted flowers.
